This guy is going to be a superstar, I can just feel it. I predict he will win 2 superbowls in his career. Steelers will be the first team to 6 & 7!!! ;)

Great read. Like the man said, he's a football coach and nothing more. The age and race thing is totally irrelevant in my book.

His "blue-collar work ethic" comments appeal to me. Living in Dallas, I see a team full of pampered celebrities, like TO. The Steelers can't afford to "buy" a championship, so they have to work for it. That was the best part of the 05 season -- the way the Steelers won it all without celebrity players like Manning, TO and LaDainian Tomlinson. They were a bunch of hard-working football players.

I sometimes wonder if part of the problem in 06 was the "celebrity" mindset that came from winning the SB in 05. If so, maybe Mike Tomlin can work that out of the team, and get them back that "blue-collar" mindset.

I think one of the problems with 05 started with Coach Cowhwer's attitude which is going to influence the rest of the team to some degree. His heart just wasn't in it. You know, you saw it, he wasn't as emotional as he usually was.

I loved Cowher as a coach, and I am going to miss him tremendously, but a new and well disciplined approach to next year could be the little nudge we need to bring home another trophy.

I strongly believe Coach Tomlin will bring that to the team. And he has Pittsburgh connections through Dungy who gave him his coaching job at Tampa. I read an article on Dungy once where he gave a lot of credit to Coach Noll for what he knows on defense. He's a good man in my book.

I never doubted Tomlin. I really like his personality and his "blue-collar" work ethic!! He's a Pittsburgh guy deep down inside of his heart!!
