I noticed Ed Reed didn't make that list either - IMHO Reed, Roy Williams and Taz are the top 3 safeties in the league.

That list is just mind-boggling. How the hell does Vick make more than Manning, Palmer and Favre? Keith Bulluck at $7.1 million? For what? Rod Smith is way overpaid. Warren Sapp hasn't been worth $6 million in over 5 years. Think the Jets might want to reconsider that ridiculous contract they gave to Lamont Jordan? Who the hell is Ryan Pickett, and why does he make almost $5 million? And notice how many of those big salaries are paid to players on average to bad teams? Coincidence? I think not. People want to rag on the Rooneys for not overpaying for free agents or for anyone in general. With the success they've had, how can anyone put them down? I guarantee you that those teams who constantly pay out those huge salaries for very little return would trade places with the Steelers any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Also, Troy and Ed Reed will end up being the highest paid safeties in the league. They clearly are the best in the business, with Roy Williams, Brian Dawkins and Sean Taylor following - in that order.

Just my opinion mind you but... Lists like this and most text in general is much easier to read when it's left justified and in black.

whats wierd is that green bay is all over that list, yet they have huge salary cap space. steelers arent up there but our backs are against the wall. granted green bay starts alot of rookies, and the steelers have alot of players making 4-5 million apiece.

the funniest part of this list is tom brady up top. so much for all the bogus talk of hometown discaounts and manning making so much more money than him. brady has always made about as much as manning since he did his extension. its just the way the contracts were worded that were different. yet the patfans liked using this as yet another disrespect card.

"woe is brady".

and the most amazing thing about this list is how the ravens and bungles arent in salary cap hell. they definitely will be in 2-3 years cause the bulk of their contracts are so backloaded. and ray lewis wants a raise? they are gonna franchise a. thomas at about 8 mil/year? good luck with that. they are making dan snyder look fiscally responsible.

He hasn't been worth a shit for years. I guess he did ok for GB? I never followed because I could care less. Talk about a guy that gets paid a lot of money for nothing... I'm glad he's GB's problem now.

i hate to say this cause ive always thought he was one of the most undeservedly overhyped worthless pieces of crap in the league, but he actually did fairly well for the packers last year. he was near the top of the league in interceptions (i think it was 10)

My assessment of him pretty much parallels your's. Even if he did play well for GB last year, I have no doubt that he will be back to his worthless ways soon enough.
