Seriously, with the use of a hybrid 4-3/3-4 defense and the slow evolution into Tomlin's philosophy on defense, should we expect a D-Heavy draft? The issues on D outweigh the ones on O. Our LB's are getting old, and as I mentioned, we're using a new Defense now.
The only basic issues on O are the O-Line and finding a suitable #2 for Parker, which shouldn't be that tough to find. Heck, we may already have him on the roster. One things for sure, it's not Haynes. I say Kuhn shocks everyone in the preseason and snatches the number 2 role. Either that or I predict we sign Duckett as our yearly-annual FA. WR is a sexy position, but I have faith in Ward, Holmes, and Washington. Wilson is my only beef, and he can be replaced. He better show up, but I'm not holding my breath. Just my opinion of course. |

I was just watching the Combine and Tim Shaw LB/DE from Penn State ran a 4.49. I just have to say the dude is a beast. I played against him in high school, he went to clarencevill and i went to Cranbrook, and let me just say he dominated both sides of the ball. I hope we can pick him up in the4th or 5th round it could be a big time steal for the Steelers.

It might be a D dominated draft, but I still prefer to draft some young OL talent.

I think we will draft a tall WR late and at least one offensive lineman, and maybe a big RB. I think the draft will be pretty equal, with maybe a little more emphasis on defense.

I think we need a big time WR....WE have Ward, (who is great but slowing down and cant really streatch the field); Holmes who I think is going to be big time this year)...But after that its all questionable.......
Maybe second round receiver.......... First round is going to be defensive front......no doubt DE or LB

It has to be D early...l2 out of the first 3 picks. As for receivers, Nate Washington has some flashes of brilliance. I hope he's busting his tail this offseason. We'll definitely draft a receiver. Don't forget we've got Willie Reid - while a return specialist he may develop into a solid back up. If Wilson has any sort of impact on our cap room it would not hurt my feelings to get rid of him. But he does know the system, yadda yadda yadda.
Linebackers and D-line have to be the focus though. |

Both of the Penn State Linebackers had excellent combines. They believe that Shaw has probably moved himself up to a first day selection. I would like to see the Steelers nab BOTH of these guys.
