St Pierre is a good guy to keep as a 3rd string, I hope we never have to use him, but after last year...

Pierre has a repore with the WRs and although the O playbook will be different, he will be better adept at learning it than say a rookie or a free agent QB. Any free agent QB worth signing would cost more than 800K. Besides, if another team matches the offer the Steelers get a 5th rd pick for him.

This is all just my opinion of course...........

Go Burgh!

Good points.. Pierre knows the Steelers players and even though
he may have to learn a new system he is ahead of any free agent QB that we could pick up at his price.

It was the right move so that we don't lose him off the practice squad again. You need three QB's, and yes noone wants to see the 3rd QB play. We probably won't go after a QB in the draft. We need those picks for other positions.

you have to look at it in the sense that he has been around the steelers orgainization for a few years so he knows our offense and if we needed him to play next season he would be better that a guy like tim rattay or someone.
