Default Porter

Don't get me wrong because I love Joey Porter, he was a HUGE part of our championship season and all the other seasons he played, but, i dont understand why Steeler Nation is so shocked. Joey is getting old, and being a linebacker that relies on speed to get around the edge, age tends to be a problem. Yes, he was fun to watch and even more fun to listen to in the press room, but he is old. He will have a good couple years in Miami becuase he will be overshadowed by Jason Taylor who will be getting doubled a lot, but would he have had good years in Pittsburgh to come? Doubt it. Maybe 2 more good years and Porter wasn't looking for a 2 year contract he wanted one like what he got. Not a good investment in pittsburgh and in a few years it will probably prove to be a bad investment for Miami. There will be another great linebacker in Pittsburgh...there always is, we manufacture them, and then when they leave, they fade away. We will miss his locker room presence, and his big mouth that we loved so much when he called the Colts soft and accused the refs of cheating, but we will find a replacment on the field, because thats how we do it in Pittsburgh.

I would also like to see all the threads dealing with Ben Roethlisberger and his Switzerland trip back in the spotlight.

GO STEELERS
We most steelers know that it was the right move for the organization but it is just hard to let go one of your most awsome members of the team especally when he is such a vocal leader. But yes i agree it was right to let him go. Harrison is a dam good backer and will fill in nicley i just dont know who will fill his vocal leader from the D

Dude, someone always steps up. Joey's vocality has suppressed others. by the time you make it to the pro's you have fire! Others will come forth, especially with the fire Tomlin invokes!
