Default Steelers Barr could replace Gardocki and Brown might come back;

Steelers | Barr could replace Gardocki
Thu, 15 Mar 2007 22:01:39 -0700
Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reporting for the Sporting News, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers will bring P Mike Barr to training camp for the fourth consecutive year as a possible replacement for P Chris Gardocki, who has not yet been released. Barr has a strong leg and almost beat out Gardocki this past year.

Steelers | Brown could still re-sign

Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reporting for the Sporting News, reports it's still possible the Pittsburgh Steelers could re-sign veteran free-agent LB Chad Brown, even though they had originally planned not to bring him back in 2007.

Depending on depth at LBer and draft. We might sign him for backup purpose. Now if we get a impact LBer right off the bat in the Draft. I doubt we resign him and even if we do he might not make the final roster depending on who we draft.

I'm all for a new punter at this point. Unless Gardocki shows something during camp... then I'm all for it. Although I could see him as something like the 42 or 43 year old dude who's a P or K for the Falcons.

I like Barr, but Gardocki should be given a chance in camp, even though I think Barr should
start already. Maybe keep Gardocki for one more year and see how Barr does.

R.I.P
Gardocki's Career should be over in Pittsburgh...
As far as Chad Brown.. if we bring him back then it just shows how desperate our Front Office is...
God Bless

If Chad recovers from his injury, I'm all for bringing him training camp. Age is obvoiusly a factor for him, but were not talking about a guy who will be on the field for 20 0r 30 plays a game. Obviousy, he has to prove himself just like everyone else. However, if he shows he can still be effective in training camp, why not give him a chance to be a third down pass rusher?

Doesn't Gardocki only ave. like 38 yards/punt? Isn't that about the lowest in the league?

I liked Barr and with Cowher gone there is no loyalty to Gardocki,lets hope we get some much-needed youth isntilled on this team.
