Well, we have the HOF game, so that's something I guess.

This from Peter King today:

The schedule will be announced April 5 on ESPN, which owns much of the free world and is currently in negotiations to buy the rest.

Thought Steelers-Cards might be the first weekend of MNF but obviously not.

My bet is one Sunday night and one Monday night game for the Steelers.

After all the prime time and late afternoon kickoffs for the defending SB champs in 2006 I am looking forward to what I assume will be mostly 1 pm kickoffs in 2007.

Weird...it wasn't that long ago that games featuring the Colts, the Saints, The Bengals and the Cards would have been all local market fodder called by the Z teams...

That's the difference between baseball and football. Baseball ratings pretty much require Yankees or the Red Sox since they have the $$$ to win and develop viewers nationwide; the NFL sells the game and because of the cap (at least for now) any team can become competitive and a media draw.

But baseball is different...small payroll teams can win. It's the nature of the game, though, and I'm not sure rev share would work in MLB. Baseball is a different animal altogether...

As for fan draw, people will watch the first game because it's the first game, but interest will wane fast. The NFL is simply more of a spectacle than baseball is...
