Yeah, while I went to get gas I talked to a guy who was getting gas next to me. He said his daughter lives down in Atlanta. She said the gas station was packed with people trying to get gas before it jumped up. It went up 40 cents while she was there. It was $6.00. She ended up turning around and saying the hell with it. Two places about 5 minutes from my house have it at $2.85. The gas station right down the street from me has it at $2.69. Filled that tank the whole way up. No telling how much higher they will go. I feel bad for those down in Atlanta $60 for 10 gallons of gas! JEEZ!!!!

I honestly can't believe that supply is that low and demand is so high. And I also can't believe that the hurricane can have this much of an impact. Since we only receive about 20% of our oil from the Gulf of Mexico. It seems that gas goes up over everything. They always find a way to tie it in. Something as stupid as the Red Sox winning the World Series. I can see it in headlines now. "Red Sox win Series, Gas to go up." We can send people to the moon, but we can't come up with an alternate fuel. This is why there is no other explanation except for gouging.

Gas prices are certainly getting out of hand.. The scary part is, I dont ever see them coming back down. There will always be a reason to raise them...

I agree, I said the same thing. I dont see it going back to even the low 2's once they get it up there they wont bring it down that much. I was talking to the owner of a gas station this morning and he said here it will be over 4 dollars by thanksgiving. I guess I will be asking for gas cards for Christmas....

Thats scary. I hope they go lower because I am thinking of going to college about 2 hours from home. I also would be coming home often. I am praying those prices go down because thats going to be a lot of money to dish out ontop of college.

In my city they are $2.99 and $3.16
It's outragous...price gouging (and anal rape) is what it is.

One of my best friends from HS was the regional manager for all Shell Stations in S. Florida, and he told me a lot about how the industry works. There may be gouging going on, but it is certainly not the small business owners fault. There are wholesalers who set the price for each area, and they are to blame. The guy who owns the gas station just does as he is told...if gas is 3.10 a gallon, they are paying no less then 2.95 for it themselves, and usually, they don't make any money on gas, just smokes and chips and beer and stuff...
