It was a nice bounce back win today for the Buccos. Duke for the most part owned the Reds today. He got in trouble in the 7th but for the most part was flawless today.
It was nice to see Eldred hit the ball today. He had a HR and double plus knocked in two. It was great having Sanchez back and he had a nice start to his season. Plus Jumping Jack Wilson had a good day with the bat hitting his first homerun of the season. Plus Jason Bay hit his second on the year. The bullpen was solid and Capps is one of the best late inning relievers in the game. Plus Torres netted his fourth save. Beat'em Bucs beat'em Bucs and lets take two out of three against the Cards in the home opening series of the season. |

Well, a 4-2 start isn't anything to sneeze at. But there are still some major concerns that need to be rectified and soon (LaRoche striking out 3 more times today, Armas getting drilled yesterday, Maholm's first inning woes continuing, Duffy not getting it done in the leadoff spot...again). Let's see how they do against St. Louis, who have been really struggling until their 10-1 win over the suddenly hapless Astros today.

I'm getting sick of Adam LaRoche, he better get a hit now, along with Freddy and J. Bay can follow that up with an HR to tie the game in the 9th

It's not a good sign to be dropping these early games to division rivals, especially the Cardinals who haven't looked very good in the season's first week.
