Draft prospects visit Steelers
Monday, April 02, 2007 By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The Steelers entertained two college prospects today, the first day NFL rules permit the college players to visit teams before the April 28-29 draft. Running back Antonio Pittman of Ohio State and defensive end Ikaika Alama-Francis of Hawaii spent time visiting the coaches and scouts at the Steelers UPMC facility. Each team is permitted to have 30 players in for visits between now and April 20. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07092/774527-66.stm

I'm thinking that they are both good choices, but I think we might go for the RB before the DE, but then again we might be surprised.

Honestly, I think Pittman will end up being another Verron Haynes type guy...he's fast as Hell, and he can block and catch, but he doesn't really excel at anyone thing. Not only did the kid play for OSU, he's also from my hometown, but I'm not sure he's a good fit for us..

If we already have a Verron Haynes why would we draft another one? Of course I kind of liked Verron... he was a very nice guy to have in there on 3rd downs, atleast you could depend on him to do his job blocking...
