Default Cardinals sign OT Gandy to three-year deal

Looks like the Max Starks BS rumors to the Cardinals should officially end.

Cardinals sign OT Gandy to three-year deal

By Len Pasquarelli

Continuing their efforts to upgrade the pass protection for second-year quarterback Matt Leinart, the Arizona Cardinals on Monday signed unrestricted free agent offensive tackle Mike Gandy to a three-year contract.

Financial details of the deal for Gandy, who played the last two seasons with the Buffalo Bills, were not yet available.
Gandy, 28, was one of the few starting-caliber tackles still available in the free agency pool and his style should be a good fit for the blocking scheme that offensive line coach Russ Grimm will implement in his first season. Gandy joins former Dallas center Al Johnson, who is already projected as the Cardinals' starter, as offensive linemen added by Arizona during the free agency period.
It is still uncertain where Gandy will play in the revamped Cardinals line. First-year coach Ken Whisenhunt told ESPN.com last week that he has considered moving right tackle Oliver Ross to the left side to provide Leinart better front side protection. It's not known yet if the addition of Gandy might alter those plans.
A former Notre Dame standout, Gandy started all 16 games at left tackle for the Bills in 2005. He began the 2006 season as the starting left tackle. But he then moved to left guard halfway through the season when Buffalo switched right tackle Jason Peters, who the Bills feel will emerge as a Pro Bowl-level blocker, to left tackle.
Originally a third-round choice of the Bears in the 2001 draft, Gandy played four seasons in Chicago, appearing in 32 games and starting at right guard, left guard and left tackle. Gandy signed with the Bills as a free agent in 2005 and won the starting left tackle position with a strong training camp performance that summer.
Gandy is known as a solid technician who uses his hands well and who is fundamentally solid in his pass-blocking. The line has long been a problem area for an Arizona offense that features top-shelf skill-position players, and Whisenhunt has deemed it a priority to upgrade the unit.

Valuable lesson for yas, don't believe anything from Profootballtalk.com
