I have LONG held that the federal government having any list of private owners of guns is very dangerous to the well being of this nation. The fact of the matter is that guns are being used as a scapegoat, because too many people do not want to face up to the facts that the social experiments of raising your children according to Dr. Spock (not the star trek character), leniency in drug and crime enforcement, and social justification for immoral actions have failed.

Why are there more guns over the last decade or two? Not because there are more guns per capita, but because there is less morality and social pressure to exist within societal mores and norms. Those who have pushed for the reality we are now in are grasping at straws when the blame guns for killing people.

When was the last time you ever saw a gun walk down the street itself and pull its own trigger? The gun isn't the problem, too many people own too many guns without any problems for the problem to be the gun. The problem is the people. The sooner people take the blinders off thier eyes and start demanding fair punishments for crimes, demanding better morality in society, and demanding parents to be more responsible for thier own children, guns will no longer be an issue in this nation.

And before anyone starts suggestion Europe does this or disallows that, may I remind you that most of European governments still think of and treat thier citizens as subjects. We are one of the few countries where the people are supposed to take care of themselves.

I haven't confirmed this yet, but I read on another forum that Rep. Jake Wheatley has pulled is name from sponsorship of the bill.

EDIT:: Confirmed...

If you voted Democrat in the last election and don't like this piece of legislation, you only have yourself to blame.

Nancy Pelosi (as anti-gun as any fruity lib in the country) has vowed to make anti-gun legislation a top priority while she's the speaker. This will get a lot worse for gun owners or advocates before it gets any better. I don't own a gun, but I definitely think it's VERY wrong to mess with something the founding fathers felt so strongly about that they put a specific amendment into the constitution supporting.

I think that the introducers of this bill are actually trying to start a civil war and maybe thats what we need when they are trying to take away our right to keep and bear arms. If this passes they are going to have alot more criminals on their hands. Then what would be next are they going to take away my hammers!!

Thanks for the post PnP.

Being a Texas resident (even after 20yrs away in the Navy, I still maintain my TX Drivers License and residency status), I do not think I can help with the PA House portion.

If I can........please let me know by PM (just to insure that I get it).

If this does go national, you had better believe I will be sending letters, signing whatever I need to in order to fight this.

This is the Gun Control fanatics way; chip away, one small piece at a time until our right to Bear Arms exists only in history books.

Well, if you voted Republican in the past 2 presidential elections you have nobody else to blame but yourself.

I don't like this House Bill either, my Rep voted against it. (And by the way he is a Democrat)
