? The AFC is better than the NFC: Certainly that's not a very big surprise, but it's even more apparent when you look at the strength of schedules for 2007. Every team in the AFC has a strength of schedule of over .500. The Lions (.504) are the only NFC team with a strength of schedule of over .500.
? Kicking the Raiders while they're down: The Raiders finished with the NFL's worst record and were rewarded with the hardest schedule in 2007. The Raiders don't get any breaks in the AFC West, with all six of their divisional games coming against teams with better than .500 records. ? It pays to be in the NFC North: One year after having the NFL's easiest schedule, the Bears check in with the second-easiest schedule (.465) this season. Chicago's three divisional foes were a combined 17-31 (.354) in 2006. Raiders .539 Bills .539 Patriots .535 Titans .520 Colts .516 Chiefs .516 Jets .516 Dolphins .512 Steelers .512 Bengals .512 Ravens .508 Browns .508 Jaguars .508 Broncos .504 Lions .504 Texans .504 Chargers .504 Redskins .500 Vikings .500 Eagles .500 Cowboys .496 Giants .496 Packers .492 Seahawks .488 Saints .484 Panthers .477 Buccaneers .473 Rams .473 Falcons .473 49ers .469 Bears .465 Cardinals .461 |

Can't really say the Raiders were rewarded with the toughest schedule because of their record. The record has nothing to do with it. As I understand it, the Raiders would play this schedule if they had finished 16-0 or 0-16.
I'm not going to boo hoo over the schedule. If the Raiders were actualy the Raiders, the schedule would mean nothing. |

the difference between the chargers and raiders is the raiders play the team with the best record twice, and the chargers play the team with the worst record twice. 14-2 vs 2-14. that 24 game swing pretty much makes up the difference .539 and .504 opponents winning %.
