Default Iraqi Terrorist Kills 127

did anyone notice this? lost in the hype and sensasionalizm of our countries worst mass murder, 183 people we could care less about but [our troops] are willing to die for, were killed yesterday. very strange is the american condition and how desensitized whe have become. if this happened in an underground rail in england or an fbi building in oklahoma, it would be swarmed by media coverage. however it happens in iraq it is barely noticed, and we simply shrug it off as just another typical day.

BAGHDAD - Grieving relatives retrieved bodies from hospital morgues Thursday, and passers-by gawked at the giant crater left by a market bomb in one of four attacks that killed 183 people on the bloodiest day since the U.S. troop increase began nine weeks ago.

But violence did not abate Thursday, as a suicide bomber exploded in another mostly Shiite district, killing at least 11 people and wounding 28, police said. The car bomb exploded next to a fuel tanker in Karradah, setting fire to the truck. The death toll was expected to rise.

Many of the more than 230 Iraqis killed or found dead nationwide a day earlier were buried in quiet ceremonies before Thursday's noon prayer, according to Muslim tradition. Other bodies lay in refrigeration containers, still unidentified, at morgues across Baghdad.

In Sadr City, relatives flocked to Imam Ali Hospital to claim the bodies of loved ones. A man held his shirt over his mouth and nose as he moved past decaying bodies. Nearby, four men loaded a casket onto a minibus.

The most devastating blast struck the Sadriyah market as workers were leaving for the day, charring a lineup of minibuses that came to pick them up. At least 127 people were killed and 148 wounded, including men who were rebuilding the market after a Feb. 3 bombing left 137 dead.

Its an impossible situation in Iraq - and it continues to deteriorate at a rate of knots.

The desensitization to violent acts is definitely a huge worry.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

That place has been one big cluster puck for some time now. I don't see things getting much better in that messed up region of the globe. I believe our hearts were in the right place (many disagree because they feel we are Nazi Germany, be happy we are not), but IMO, we should start pulling out and let that country/region decay much like it has been doing for many years. They want to blow each other up, let them.

It's horrible watching the news everyday and hearing about our boys getting killed for a nation/people that hate us. They are not worth it. If things were actually changing in that country I would be all for sticking it out and getting the job done, but things are not getting any better over there from what I've seen.

Wow, I don't know about anybody else, but I'm craving an Anna Nicole story. Let's at least get back to driving Imus off the planet. Come on!!! Where's our priorities?

funny. someone on the news yesterday was saying how if the imus story broke this week, he'd still have his job. also funny that this typical diatribe and rhetoric is passed off as "news" by "news" reporters. all part of the job by a talking head on cable i guess.

im just facinated how we are so horrified, mesmerized, riveted, to stories such as columbine, or tim mcveigh, or commuter trains being bombed in sequence, yet its like we are bored with any of the same stuff if it happens in iraq.

i guess this is more commentary than having a point but if there is one, we should probably feel a little lucky we dont have stuff like VT or the washington snipers happening 3-4 times a week like in other parts of the world.

What a shame, that the war that most of the democrats supported & Hillary Clintorious 100% supported based on her own "personal" information is running into problems. Now everyone runs & blames it on bush. Including Dems, MSNBC, NBC, ABC etc. No wonder Fox blows them away combined. The war may have been a mistake. By the way, waht will happen if we pull out of Iraq? In the vietnam war, did we lose any major conflicts? I heard we won the tet offensive? or whatever it was called by 50,000 killed to less than 5,000 of ours$? An enemy general was quoted as saying the Vietnam war was lost until the American media & Hanoi Jane stepped in. Then the media got involved & Jane Fonda & said it was too costly. We pulled out & MILLIONS were murdered. Never heard about that on the news, huh?

The big problem is this IMHO:

Our enemy is playing a political war. They are choosing how we engage. They are choosing when to strike so that there is an article in our newspapers each day. They will be influencing the 2008 elections with their attacks.

The Dems in congress supported this war because they like the American public were lied to by the Bush admin. i.e. WMD's ( based one ONE persons testimony who was later found out to be lying)and Iraq's alleged support of Al Queida. Bush WANTED this war. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!
