Default Seattle trades their BEST WR...

...to the 49ers for a 4th round pick.

now this is strange (and shows why seattle management wont be ready to contend for a championship for a looong time):

seattle lets hutchinson go for what is now considered a bargain. they bring in burleson for about the same price.

they trade their #1 pick to patriots for branch and give him an insane contract.

having this pick allows the patriots to trade their #1 pick to the 49ers for next years 1st AND a 4th rounder.

the patriots use that 4th rounder to land randy moss.

the 49ers use a 4th rounder to land d. jackson (whom the seahawks can no longer afford)

wow, the seahawks are in a bowl full of shit.

Not to mention Shaun Alexander has been getting beat up and is around that 30 age. When RB's hit 30 the bottom can drop out at anytime. I guess they are going to let Branch be the man. By trading a first round pick for him and giving him that type of contract they have to. Plus they gave Nate Burelson a nice contract as well and he really didn't pan out yet also.

Did they draft a WR? Or am I on crack?lol

If the Seahawks want to go out and screw themselves, then fine by me. I still think all the whining they did after the Sb has clouded their minds...

Succinctly put!

Word is that Jackson is the guy that shares the best understanding with Hasselbeck - which brings back memories of how pissed Brady was when he lost Branch - who, as you say, is now in Seattle.

Chemistry is obviously an important factor in a QB/WR relationship - the best I can think of is Harrison/Manning - Manning knows he can put the ball in ridiculous places and Harrison will know where its going and nearly always come down with it.

I guess when all this shakes out, Branch is a further rung up the WR depth chart in Seattle - which what they had to do when they spent all that money on him.

Wonder what Asante Samuel makes of all this.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

Not to mention, and say what you will about this idea, a division rival.

Seattle has gotten VERY comfortable holding down that entire division with their thumb.

the Seahawks WILL NOT win the NFC West this year...

The Seahags have benfitted from the fact that the rest of the conferance profainly sucked these past few years.

But while the franchises beneath them got better, the Seahags stood pat.

The 49ers and Caridnals are the two biggest threats to Seattle.

The 9ers have Alex Smith at QB,and he showed last year that he can play QB in this league.Frank Gore is one of the best RB's in the NFC,and Vernon Davis will be a big play TE for years to come in that offense. Then they really fortified the O-Line with thier pick of Joe Staley to man the LT spot, protecting Smith's blindside.

Thier defense is rather formidable, especially with thier first round pick of Willis to be that run-stopping MLB.Lawson is a very good OLB and they have Clements there to keep teams from throwing to his side of the field.Michael Lewis and Mark Roman, thier saftey tandem, those guys can hit!

Arizona drafted themselves a franchise QB in Matt Leinart a year ago,Ken Whisenhut can do a lot with a young QB.Levi Brown will be there for a long time protecting Leunart's blindside.Duce Lutui is a stud at RG.They also have Edge running the ball in the desert. Not to mention one of the best receiver tandems in Fitzgerald and Boldin.Leonard Pope is a solid TE also.

Thier defense isn't as good at San Fran's,but it's becoming nothing to sneeze at either, especially with the drafting of DT Alan Branch in the second round.

But to put it into the correct perspective....Seattle losing their best WR is the military equivelant of France losing their best soldier.

lol. this is true. while "hands of stone" jackson was a polished routrunner with good speed and chemistry he always seems to have little nagging injuries.

mike nolan spoke thismorning how his knee is healing up fine, as was his turf toe. he said how they were very skeptical of a divisional rival trying to pawn jackson off on them but he checked out fine.

The NFC West is up for grabs this year. The Niners, Cards, and Rams are getting better and Seattle did nothing. The have an aging RB who is approaching his twilight years, a TE with hands of stone who can't stay out of trouble...

No more "9-7 record wins the division" anymore in the NFC West. I expect a dogfight.
