Post Kuhn and 6 others cut..9/3 Update: Jackson, St. Pierre, Schneck cut

http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssentinel/12545984.htm

RB Kuhn among six Steelers players released

Associated Press

PITTSBURGH - Running back John Kuhn, who set four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference records at NCAA Division II Shippensburg, was among six players released Friday by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Also waived were punter Mike Barr, offensive tackle Ulish Booker, wide receiver Chris Collins, cornerback Janssen Patton and linebacker Ronald Stanley. Kuhn and Stanley were the only rookies.

The Steelers must make 12 more roster cuts by 6 p.m. Saturday, though they can later sign up to eight rookies or first-year players to their practice squad.

The 6-foot, 255-pound Kuhn carried six times for six yards in the Steelers' four exhibition games after gaining 4,685 yards and scoring 53 touchdowns at Shippensburg. Stanley, also a rookie free agent, played at Michigan State.

I was really rooting for Kuhn, being a hometown boy...but he's got a goot shot at the PS.

I am hoping they put Kuhn on the practice squad. He didn't really do anything to hurt himself. Plus, if Kreider goes down, we are left with just Haynes to play FB. I think.

Not surprised at all at this point by St. Pierre and Zo. We gave Jackson more than a fair shake, and he just never delivered. I knew when Batch played the entire 2nd half last night that we were either try to trade Batch or just cut St. Pierre. Now, the interesting thing will be, which team that we play this year will pull a Tom Coughlin and pick up Pierre just to pick his brain about our offense?

That IS surprising! WR competition this year was pretty tough, though. I bet he gets snatched up off waivers within 24 hours...
