Default Alan Faneca Rhapsody

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught on the strong side
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a lineman, I need no sympathy
Because I block the run, block the throw
A little high, little low
Anyway the play goes, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just held a man
Put my hand against his head
Pulled the facemask down instead
Mama, drive had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to step offsides
If I'm not back again this time next season
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my contract's done
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the play goes)
I don't want to lie
I sometimes wish I'd never been signed at all

I see a little malcontent despondent man
Omar Khan, Omar Khan will you work an extension
Contract year expiring - very very frightening me
Arizona, Arizona,
Arizona, Arizona,
Arizona's where I'll go - magnifico

But I'm just a lineman and noone respects me
He's just a lineman who wants security
Trade him away from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Faneca! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Faneca! We will not let you go - let him go
Faneca! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Ken Whisenhunt has a contract put aside for me
for me
for me

So you think you can keep me and spit in my eye
So you think you can tag me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me

Anyway the play goes...

Never heard "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, I take it? If you haven't, then yeah, this would fall flat.

It's almost scary how much of the original I could leave intact, and it still fit nicely as part of the Faneca thing.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

excellent! (and even better that its an original) i only wish i still had maximum rep to hand out. i must say, it is probably the most brilliant 12th post any member her has ever had.

having composed this piece yourself you might appreciate one of my own:

Nice. And done to one of the few country songs I've actually heard, making it all the better.
