And you can bet your boots that not all of the "unintended recipients" deleted Zierlein's e-mail right away.
LOL...reminds me of those "Wanna get away?" airline commercials.

E-mail flap disappoints Steelers' Dan Rooney
Wednesday, May 23, 2007

By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Dan Rooney is not happy that the Steelers organization and the words "pornographic video" have been linked, and he may do something about it.

"I'm terribly disappointed,'' Rooney said yesterday, after he arrived back at the team's headquarters from the spring NFL meeting in Nashville, Tenn. "It's not us; it's not our culture.''

Offensive line coach Larry Zierlein, hired in January, forwarded an e - mail last Friday that he received from Doug Whaley, the Steelers' 10th-year pro personnel coordinator, that contained a video attachment that the Steelers' admitted was "inappropriate.'' Zierlein, by mistake, sent it league-wide and ProFootballTalk.com reported it on its web site.

Rooney, the Steelers' chairman, said he will "look into it.'' An NFL spokesman has said it is a club matter. Rooney said he's considering some sort of discipline for his two employees.

So IMO, this isn't that big of a deal. That's just me though...what do you all here think would be an appropriate course of action?

Hey, as long as R. Kelly's name is not involved, I don't see the big deal.

Absolutely not a big deal at all...we're all adults, for crying out loud, and we've all come across that type of e-mail. It was a stupid (and yes, pretty funny) mistake, and I'll bet lots of us have made some comparable error (see mine in the earlier post on this thread), either a mistake in judgment or by accidentally mixing up "reply," "reply to all," and/or "forward."

Almost every company I can think of has strict e-mail policies concerning what can and cannot be sent over their e-mail system. The Steelers will handle it according to their policy.

And someone needs to tell Zierlein to get a Yahoo or Hotmail or Gmail or whatever personal e-mail account and tell his friends that anything not work-related goes to that account. Period.
