This has happened to me before, with a long-time friend. I strongly disagreed with a view of hers and it led to an argument, which in turn led to the friendship being fractured. We've since patched things up, but it's part of the reason why I flat-out refuse to discuss anything political with anyone, not even on a message board. It isn't worth it. When discourse improves to the point where people don't get offended if you disagree, then maybe I'll share my views more often. The way things are, I'll probably be dead before that happens.

Proves my point. If you (proverbial) get offended when someone disagrees with you, then I think that would warrant therapy because obviously there are deeper issues at hand.

I have no problem discussin politics with someone as long as they are informed, and respect others opinions. I realize we are a diverse culture with many different angles and points of view.
