Default Andruzzi Battles Cancer

I wish Joe all the best, the fact that there are documented examples where people have fought back to full health is inspiring.

Former Browns, Patriots, and Packers offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to a release issued by his agent, Joe Linta.

"While this condition is very serious, both Joe and his doctors feel he will quickly be on his way to a full recovery," the release said.

Andruzzi will immediately begin a course of chemotherapy at the Dana Farber Institute in Boston.

"He is being treated by some of the best specialists in the country for his affliction," the release said. "Joe is confident that he could not be in better hands. He would like to thank all of his fans and friends for the tremendous outpouring of support and prayers."

The label "non-Hodgkin's lymphoma" refers to a broad group of cancers of the immune system. Treatment and prognosis depends on the specific form of the disease.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins star Mario Lemieux was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the early 1990s. He made a full and complete recovery.
They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

Yeah, in fact when Mario came back from his bout with cancer midway through the 92-93 season, he went on to win the NHL scoring title. So not only can Joe Andruzzi make a full recovery, he can come back and perform at a high level.

I wish him all the best as well.

People in the sports world have the money for the finest doctors and get the best care around. If they were regular people going to the medicore docs, they have less of a chance, good for them tho.
