Default American Steel. . Help me finish it. . .

American Steel

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
How those Steelers used to make me smile
And I knew if they had their chance
That they could make it to the dance
And maybe I'd be happy for a while
But Terry Bradshaw made me shiver
With every pass that he'd deliver
The Rams were on the doorstep
But didn't take one more step-
And I can't remember if I cried
As I reveled in my Steeler pride
And somethine touched me deep inside-
And said, one for the thumb!

So bye, bye Miss American Steel
Drove my Probe down to Latrobe but I blew out a wheel
Them good ol' boys were eatin' parmesan veal
Singin this'll be the year we're for real,
This'll be the year we're for real

Can they get into the zone
And do you have faith in Mark Malone
If the playbook tells you so-
Do you believe in Louis Lipps
Can he extend his fingertips
And can they make it on the final throw
Well, I know Frank Pollard wouldn't go
Because Abercrombie stole the show
They both could run all day
While Tunch Ilkin led the way-
But it was a lonely January day
When the secondary just couldn't play
And Dan Marino made them pay
And miss one for the thumb-

I started singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Steel
Drove my Probe down to Latrobe but I blew out a wheel
Them good ol' boys were eatin' parmesan veal
Singin this'll be the year we're for real,
This'll be the year we're for real

Now for ten years we were in a void
But the defense flourished with Greg Lloyd
Rod Woodson, Lake, and Kevin Greene
And then Yancey Thigpen set the tone
In a role he borrowed from Dwight Stone
And a little help from Eric Green-
Oh but it was on that day in 'ninety-four
The offense stalled and couldn't score
They didn't catch the pass-
It landed in the grass!
As the linemen came around the guards
The quarterback was pressured hard
And we only needed three more yards
To see one for the thumb-

We were singin',
Bye, bye Miss American Steel
Drove my Probe down to Latrobe but I blew out a wheel
Them good ol' boys were eatin' parmesan veal
Singin this'll be the year we're for real,
This'll be the year we're for real

Okay, that's all I've got. hit a mental block LOL. Three verses left to go. Obviously need one about the Super Bowl 30 year, then one about maybe the early 2000s, then one about the Super Bowl XL year. Hmm. . . '

For reference, here's the rest of the real song. . .

Verse 4 (need about SB XXX)
Helter Skelter in a summer swelter
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eight miles high and falling fast
It landed foul on the grass
The players tried for a forward pass
With the Jester on the sidelines in a cast
Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the Sergeants played a marching tune
We all got up to dance
Oh but we never got the chance
'Cause the players tried to take the field
The marching band refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died
We started singing

{Refrain}

Verse 5 (need about late 90s or early 2000s)
Oh, and there we were, all in one place
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again
So come on, Jack, be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Flash sat on a candlestick
'Cause fire is the devils only friend
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No angel born in Hell
Could break that Satan's spell
And as flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day the music died
He was singing

{Refrain}

Verse 6 (need about SB XL!!! )
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play

And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken
And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died
And they were singin'

{Refrain}

Bye-bye, Miss American Pie
Drove my chevy to the levy
But the levy was dry
And them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singing this'll be the day that I die
