While email is sufficient for keeping in contact with people, myspace makes it really easy not to just keep in contact with them but share everything with them. You can represent yourself through pictures, blogs, put videos you like on and share everything you love with your friends. An example of a great reason that taking it to the next level is extremely beneficial is if you live in Pittsburgh and have a friend who moves to California you can still do activities with them as opposed to just writing them. They can see things you have done through pictures like taking trips, or going to sports events or w/e. While you can do all of these things through email it is much more convenient to put it on a singular page where all of your contacts can reach it and it can be saved. Private messaging maintains the privacy of emails and comments provide an instant message element to the experience. I am a journalism student and use my blog page to post and display my work and get feedback on it. There are a lot of sport trash talking myspaces made just for talking sports and bashing other fans - much like this board... So you see, myspace has many uses that other sites have, just rolled into one place. That was the big deal when it first started to gain popularity and why it?s been able to stay alive and not die out.

I agree with you. I am 32 and I have a myspace page. I use it to keep in touch with my out of state friends. I also use to keep up with what is going on with my friends in town. It is helpful when you want to remind all your friends about ladies night, get togethers, birthdays, etc. I have even been reunited with friends that I have not seen in 15 years. I get to share my pictures and life with them. I don't add friends just to see how big my numbers can get. I only have 30 friends. Only 2 of those people are people I do not know. They happen to be local Steeler fans so I'm okay with that. I think myspace can be a cool thing. It can also be a creepy thing. Which is why I do not allow my 13 year old son to have a page. I don't think it is appropriate for any minor to be on myspace. And, if I did have a child who I allowed to have a page, I would be a total watchdog on everything he/she did....And I understand it is not for everyone and some people think it is a total bunch of crap...To each his own.
Anyone who has a site and wants to stop by and say hi, feel free. http://www.myspace.com/deana1974

Why? Because there was a discussion about how myspace helps weave pastors into a community.

My thoughts now? I am looking for how to cancel myspace. All I get is porn spam, spam to help me make things enlarged... etc.

I can see how kids would love it, but I really don't have a need for it.
Don't understand that. I have had an account for over a year and have never received anything like that..........Maybe your site got phished.

Exactly. But let's say this 'bartender' is'nt quite a "young'n" ?

I don't know evil twin,...i've always been a fan of 'substance',... as oppossed to just the hot, yet vapid 'fack ya's'. (Though the latter can be quite entertaining) LOL

But hey,...whom am i to knock anyone's 'Mid life crisis hustle' ?

"aso..." substance sees no age.

if the bartender isnt a young'n then that definitely supports my point that some do indeed get finer with age, and the older we get (as males), the more likely we are to appreciate that, and hold on to it w/o the typical ingrained "young bull" behavior, that the grass is alway greener on the other side, mentality.

I've learned, thankfully not from my own personal experience, by the experience of others, that God gives us one wife for a reason. That lady may be quite the looker but she's probably got more mental/emotional problems than the psych ward....and I don't need that headache

So while she can serve the wine and possibly flirt for an addition to the monetary tip I'll give when I close out my tab, I know where God has buttered my bread and it ain't anywhere holding hands with her!
