Willie has worked hard to get here and at times even in his style has put doubts out there of not being on a consistent basis, but as a young RB who did not run in college and is really learning how to pick the holes and lane of attack now, he has progressed well. His handling of the ball needs to improve which I think it will as hard as he works to get better and learn more. With a better O Line and Willie working to get better, 2000 Yard season does not seem that far off for him.

What impresses me the most going into this season is that a lot of are players, not just willie, ike, town, coc, and more started working out early this season before they had to. They all do not want what happen this last season to happen again. Work ethics plays a big key in the success of a team and we have a lot of players putting in that extra effort to try and make sure it does not.

what i think will help us when the time comes where we need to resign FWP is that we gave him a chance in the league when nobody else did/would. He definately seems to be the type of guy who would go for cheaper to the steelers than to another team.

If he keeps up this focus, I think he could give LT a run for his money...and that's sayin' somethin'.

As for Charlie Batch....... And he didn't even have to make a spectacle out of him self racing a horse or a geyhound or anything. Nice job, Charlie. You are special.
Charlie is class with a capital "C"...awesome thing to do!

That's an interesting observation. When the next contract negotiation rolls around, and Willie has performed, will he forget what the Steelers did for him and take the big money? Or will he stay loyal?
