Nothing on Steelers.com,KFFL, NFL.com, MSN, FOX sports net, or ESPN yet.. I would be quite surprised if they waited this long to do it,but technically they do have till midnight I guess.

Maybe with the Haggans suituation they need to add another LB?

There were rumors of us only carrying Ben and Tommy this year to make another spot for another OL, LB, or WR.. well we know we dont need another DL, so if it is being done..it'd have to be for another LB or WR I would think unless they're looking at more RB help.

Because of a groin injury to Clark Haggans, the Steelers added a rookie linebacker to their 53-man roster yesterday and released veteran quarterback Charlie Batch to make room for him.

Andre Frazier, an undrafted rookie from the University of Cincinnati, was on the Steelers' practice squad when they signed him yesterday. He is 6 feet 5, 234 pounds.

A week after receiving news that he had made the Steelers' 53-man roster, quarterback Charlie Batch was released Saturday to make room for rookie free-agent linebacker Andre Frazier.
Batch could be re-signed following the season opener today against the Tennessee Titans at Heinz Field.

The former Steel Valley High School star was supplanted by Frazier for two reasons: The Steelers kept just seven linebackers on their original 53-man roster; and outside linebackers Joey Porter (knee) and Clark Haggans (groin) are dealing with injuries.

Porter and Haggans are expected to start today, but with just five other linebackers on the original roster, including James Harrison who tweaked his hamstring last week, the need for another linebacker became acute.

Haggans injured his groin during practice Friday and did not finishthe workout. He and Porter, who returned to practice last week after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Aug. 10, are listed as probable for the game.

Batch has the option of signing with another team, but the Steelers hope to return him to the roster Monday. Batch could take back his roster spot from Frazier, or, potentially, from a player such as rookie running back Noah Herron.
