that was a killer group of LB's and definitely deserve recognition high on this list... but im not sure i can even say they were better than the 90's steelers.

they way these lists seem to go, you can almost count on it that when theres a defensive line list, the 70's steelers will probably come in 2nd to buddy ryans eagles led by jerome brown and reggie white.

I think the Saints LB corp deserve to be in the top 10 of this list......But noway number 1........Its crazy to have the Saints ahead of both Steelers LB corps....The Giants and Chiefs LB corps.....I think those four corps are better then the Saints......

if the steel curtain gets snubbed for the #1 spot then you should just ignore every other list the nfl network ever puts out.

I really don't care for these stupid lists. It's just filler because there is no football news.

However,we are the only team to be on this list twice,so I feel that speaks a lot for the defenses we have had.

I would also have to say the Porter/Farrior/Foote/Haggans combo we had in the 2005 Super Bowl Team was pretty damn good too.

Here is my argument if you trade places with the steelers linbacking core with the saints one would the steelers have won both those superbowls?
Absolutely YES. You can also say that if the Steelers LB's were on the Saints roster instead of our 4 the Saints would not have won 1 additional playoff game. We did not win more because of our defense...it was always the offense...and the 49'ers also. The Steelers has hall of fame/pro bowlers all around them...offense & defense which the loss of any component would have made winning those SB's problematic.

No doubt the Steelers were great.....but we'll take any kind of recognition we get.

Good luck in 07!

I kinda agree. Not to say the 70's Steelers LB's werent't the best. But, LB's are just a few out of 22. For arguments sake, were the Saints soooo bad that if you gave them the top LB's of all time (Lambert, Taylor, etc.,) is it possible that they still might've sucked?

I just saw it today and they actually say at the beginning that it is also an inspection of SB victories and Pro Bowl appearances, as well as how they meshed with the other defenders as well which makes me lean toward the Steelers ever more...

How many of the saints made the HOF? The majority of the media will disrespect the Steelers any chance they get. Its been a process, more of a 12 step plan, but I've managed to not only disregard but choose to not watch most of this crap anymore.

Having said that, I watched this one. I'm thinking about changing to Comcast just so I won't have the option of watching the NFL network anymore.
