Rush Grimm, Head Coach?

An article on FoxSports looking at possible future head coaches has Grimm...

- Steelers line coach Russ Grimm: Grimm has had a couple of interviews already and if he can find an owner who is looking for an absolute no-B.S. type of guy who could make any blue-collar city fall in love with him, Grimm is their guy. He doesn't come across the same as others in an interview so any hiring would consist of an owner seeing his potential and the need for a guy like Grimm taking over his locker room and pulling the trigger. A place with a discipline problem or a locker room that hates each other would be wise to hire Grimm. He would end whatever problems they'd have quicker than Dr. Phil could.

Anyways, what do you think it would do to us if he left? I think our O-line is solid, but i dunno how much is Grimm and how much are the players. Opinions?

I don't know much about Grimm either, but something's got to account for our seemingly endless ability to produce solid O-linemen. As much as I worry about them each year, they always seem to be fine. The coach has to be a factor in all of that.

He had interviews a couple years ago w/ the bears, and someone else. He wasnt in the final running for any of them at the time, but the longer time goes on and the longer we continue to dominate w/ our OL..he'll get his shot!! He deserves I think..but I sure would hate to see him go !!!

Its part system. We have always had an active line with big backs opposed to Denver who has a straight line with cut back/slot runners. Grimm is familar being a counter lineman with the hogs. So when he tells you you need to pivot sprint and then square up to the weak side backer, you tend to listen.

He worked wonders on the oline last year...shifted emphasis from straight weight lifting to hand/eye coordination and flexibility and speed...I think he'd be a fine OC, but I don't know if I'd move him up to HC...
