Default How sharp is sharp?

One of the things that sticks out in my mind from last year was that everyone said how sharp Ben was last year after the accident. Then...well we dont need to go there...but you remember what happend.
And this year I hear the same thing "Ben looks sharp".
So my question is do people see a difference from his camp last year then this year?

He's ready, Steelers fans. His ordeal over, his return will be complete come Saturday in Arizona, when football again becomes the focus and a career briefly interrupted resumes.

All we can do is hope for the best. I know thats my biggest fear about the accident. It's one thing to come back physically from that kind of trauma, but another to have the brain fully recover from planting your head in a windshield.

While Ben is responsible for a large portion of the mistakes he made last year, I still say that his interceptions would have been cut by at least half if his line even SLIGHTLY resembled a cohesive blocking unit.

As he was intending to play last year the only comments you were ever going to hear were positive ones.

I can't think of any good reason why Ben shouldn't be looking sharp in TC this year, but you always have to question the source and their reasons for relaying the information they have.

He'll be fine.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

Not really, if you discount the near-fatal motorcycle accident he was less than two months removed from when camp started last year.

I think it was Willie Parker who said last year he couldn't tell if there wa sdifference in the way Ben played from one year to the next. But that during OTA"s he could tell that there a difference. I was just wondering if anyone else had made the same bservation.

You wont see Ben under the same level of pressure at TC that you will in a game against tough opposition.

Its just impossible to recreate that level in these practice scenario's.

I think alot of Bens problems last year (after the injuries) were mental - he's had enough time to really get on terms with what happened and move forward.

Last year I just think he felt that he had to say he was ok to play.

while everyone else made excuses for Ben. He did not make em. While a lot felt batch should of been in there at the start. Ben Felt he should be in there trying to get over what happened. While everyone and there son was fumbling and dropping the balls, Ben helped by throwing INTs as the O Line failed Him.

No matter how anything is said about this, only Ben can come back and show how he is really doing without saying a word, but that he is feeling good and ready.

Like Ben said to help fix what went wrong he started out early 2 weeks after season was over working out in the gym with light weights and hitting the play books. Only Ben controls his future. Let the man show every fan out there that he is who we thought he should be, and will be.

hehe..

Who's to say Ben DIDN'T look sharp last year. I remember some people saying it was his best camp yet.

Then the surgery came... he took some time off, threw off timing... then everything else came... and the o-line stank it up!

If you look at our history... last year was an anomaly....only twice in what.. two decades... did our O-line have problems like last year... the previous time was because of injuries.

Last year, we had a rookie WR that couldn't run routes... etc. etc. ad nausem

So yeah, I do think it is possible for him to have looked sharp last year, then have all the problems.

I just care about what they say this year.

But as LITP correctly pointed out. It is one thing to do it in camp, another to do it in a game. Then again, we have learned that Pre-season games really mean nothing for Ben as well. Remember two years ago, when the first team didn't score a touchdown? Then they came out and just walked down the field and into the endzone.

While all this stuff looks good... or looks bad... it really means nothing until opening day!

BUt I still am searching the net for every bit of info... can[t wait til the first game of the preseason! Yep.. I am a typical fan!
