Default Holmes returning after neck injury?

It looks as though Priest Holmes may be returning to KC after getting clearance from his neck/spinal injury.

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10268502

KC now has a little more leverage against Larry Johnson.

If he does make it back, and earn a roster spot, then that is one hell of a comeback............my best wishes to him.

It's a good story and good luck to Priest, but I'm not sure if he'll be much of a factor on the field.

Larry Johnson's still indispensable at this point.

Actually, I wondered aloud about Holmes recently in another thread (http://forums.steelersfever.com/show...348#post264348). Seems like kind of a long shot due to the nature of the injury - neck/spinal injuries are nothing to play around with. However, I wish Holmes all the best in making a complete return to the NFL - dude was a monster before the injury. I still remember opening day a few years ago ('02, '03?) where he single-handedly tore us up. Good luck to Holmes.

i thought this thread might be in reference to santonio holmes missing practice due to the neck injury he sustained while looking back at all the bungles chasing him on the final play of the season.

LOL.... So did I.

However, I want to also share my wishes that Holmes has a safe time... At this point, I don't care whether he has a good career left or not... just that he is safe.

Love the guy and his heart but I also hope that he is doing the right thing for his future. As far as this giving the Chiefs leverage... I dont think so myself. Priest hasnt played in what 2 years? I dont think that I would give L.J. up for a maybe with Holmes..

I have always like Holmes, hope he comes back, he obviously won't be what he was before, but he still can help that sinking ship they call the chiefs.

I don't think the Chiefs would even entertain the idea of him coming back if Johnson wasn't holding out. Just him being 34 years old and not playing for almost 2 years makes this unlikely but having an injury that was as bad as his was makes it all that crazier.
