Hey... if my city was passed up by the NHL, so that they could be a team in COLUMBUS....

I wouldn't like the NHL either.

That city has a hard time keeping it's football fans when things aren't looking good.

Concerning the NFL Europa, actually, the idea was sound. The NFL didn't have a AAA league, so why not kill 2 birds with one stone and start a developmental league in an area they are trying to expand into TV wise? The league lasted like 15 years, and it didn't lose any more money then Mike Vick's contract, so I'd say the whole thing was a success, overall.

The fact that the NFL has a bunch of televised game on in Europe proves it worked. If I wanted to (and I don't), I couldn't find a European Soccer match on TV in the US if I tried.

My city was never considered by the NHL, hell my state hasn't ever been considered for any kind of pro team. (I live in Kentucky.)

ESPN airs them sometimes. I actually lightly follow the Italian League, but most of the time you get English Premiership on American television... if anything at all.

To be honest I've never seen an Italian League match on T.V. in America.

I caught a few NBA games in some pubs while I was living in Italy and the one club played the Red Sox A LOT once baseball started. My buddies there were all from Conn. so I'd tag along to watch.

The Super Bowl in Italy was... a.... NIGHTMARE.

First of all, Italy is six hours ahead of us, so you can imagine how late I was out to see a mediocre game and the only place I could see it was at one of the 6 clubs that were playing it in my area.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, there are 10,000 American students in Florence, Italy... So you can imagine what that scene was like. Not to mention all the creepy Italian dudes who saw it as an opportunity to mate with our women.

Italians treat the Super Bowl as a trendy party with adorable little cracker snacks and 9 dollar beers

I said it on the way home at like 5 A.M. and stand by it.

I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be away from America for the Super Bowl EVER again.

I guess it could have been worse. I could have been watching XL in Super Bowl hell.

I also missed the "real" Super Bowl against the Colts and Pats because I was on a transatlantic flight... I'm done complaining now...
