I got an email yesterday from some black person telling me I should vote democrat because the democratic party will get black people reperations due to slavery. I didn't enslave anyone, and I am not paying anyone a red cent if one of my ancestors did.

I replied to the email, telling him that nobody alive today deserves money for what happened back then. I told him that it's people like him that keep the "black people want money for doing nothing" stereotype alive.

LOL good response. I would tell that person that I already paid my dues as I had an ancestor die for the North during the Civil War. He paid the ultimate reparations!!!

Or, then there si the defense that every culture was bound by indentured service or slavery at one point or another...my medieval ancestors were "slaves" to their fuedal lords. Should I research and hunt down their ancestors and demand payment??!! O maybe my family were the lords!!! I should watch out! Double whammy!

Hey, I am Irish. At one point in my family's history, my ancestors had to pay the English to live in Ireland. And when my ancestors came to America, they couldn't get jobs because nobody would hire them.

You want to know why Irish people were always drunk and fighting? The alcohol kept them warm in the cold winters because they couldn't get a job to pay for housing. They fought for money because they couldn't get jobs.

I don't think she's suing because she's black, I think she's suing because that's the culture we live in. If you have even an outside chance to make fat cash for nothing, you take it.

As for the NBC/MSNBC/Imus settlement, the important thing is that he's allowed back on the air. They both sued each other, and Imus already had a lucrative contract in place. He should be rewarded his contractually obligated salary because he was fired for nonsensical reasons.
