Default BIGGEST POSITION BATTLE?

As I am sitting here watching the replay of the Redskins game from last night I just started thinking... What is still our biggest position battle remaining?
I would first of all think that it would be at RB, but with the way William Gay is playing in the secondary.. maybe it is at DB. Now, I know that offensive line is also the or probably the most important one but which is your most intriging battle?

I think the O Line is.. Really they have not come out to us and said who for sure will start. And I know me and probably like some others are very worried about the O Line and Bens protection for this season, because it means a lot to us and for us to become contenders. That O line is a big key. RB easily will be decided and I am pretty sure the Coach already has in his mind who he will keep and cut from the RB side and probably is just keeping them for now just to give them a shot to make that one last impression on him. But that O line has him baffled still, I would bet on it.

obviously the oline is gonna have the biggest impact on the season with a bunch of underachievers duking it out, but the most intriging has to be wilson and holmes, since both are looking sharp thus far.....

Steelers ? Wide Receiver
Cedrick Wilson vs. Santonio Holmes

This looked like a non-battle a few weeks ago. Holmes missed the start of camp while recovering from a minor ailment, and Wilson looked like the best player on the field at the Hall of Fame game. But offensive coordinator Bruce Arians wants to get more out of Holmes, who is the best overall athlete among the Steelers receivers. Holmes started over Wilson on Saturday and looked great; he caught a 22-yard pass on a crossing route and turned a short hitch route into a 29-yard gain. Wilson was targeted several times, but Ben Roethlisberger couldn't connect with him.

In recent practices, Holmes has run reverses and caught gadget passes from Hines Ward. He's obviously a big part of the Steelers' plans this year. Wilson may have to get used to life in the slot and as a punt returner.

Odds: Holmes, 2-to-5, Wilson 8-to-1.

RB, outside of willie I don't think anyone else has really secured a roster spot yet.

I'd have to say it's a toss up between members of the OL (particularly Colon v. Starks and Mahan v. Okobi) and the DB position. Though I want to see a little more of Gay in action on a consistent basis, he has really impressed me thus far.

I want to say DB cause I really want Anthony starting and Bryant has been ok so far, but the o line hasn't been good lately, and we need them so we can get points on the scoreboard. So my vote is o line

I voted O'line. While there is a battle at rb, the top two spots are set. Similarly, there are not many open spots at WR and Db. Last year Holmes wan't a starter at the beginning of the year, but basically was by the end. At db and wr you can move players in and out of the starting line-up without much disruption, but the o'line needs to be more set.

O-line - as HTG said, both center + RT are up for grabs. Ed.B. thinks if Starks loses out to Colon he amy not even dress for games, although my bet is that Essex is looking at being cut after what I understand was a disappointing tryout for backup LT last night.

I also understand McFadden's play last night explains why Deshea is still ahead of him on the depth chart at CB.

IMO Smith will start over Clark.

But Dan.. if Smith is gonna start over Clark then why is Clark getting the starts instead of Smith? I just think right now that Clark is gonna be our starter, but I think that Smith is more of a playmaker than Clark, so I just dont understand why Smith isnt starting. What does everyone think about Russell and Davis making this team and not Barlow and maybe Haynes or Kuhn? I love what I see out of Kuhn, and he could end up being our future FB after Kreider. This is Kreiders' last year of his contract so is it really smart to let someone who has been here for now what 3 years? and keeping Barlow? I dont think so, Barlow has did NOTHING to give me reason to think that the Steelers will keep him..
I know the final score last night was Steelers 12 Redskins 10... but the Steelers Lost in My Opinion..
