I'll say it again....it was THIRD DOWN WHEN THEY KICKED THE FIELD GOAL. Even if the steelers called a timeout, the pats could've ran up the middle, then kicked on 4th down...OR brady could've taken a knee and then they could've kicked the field goal. Bellichek wouldn't have kicked the FG on third down had the steelers called timeout. He is a smarter coach then that. Everyone is looking way too far into the timeout at the end of the game.

Yep, that time out would not have mattered.
People second guess coaches all the time. In the end, the game should never have come to the point it did. It was great that we scored to tie the game, but we always, always, always give the opposing team too damn much time and then we almost always fail to cover well on the ensuing kickoff, giving our opponents good field position and more than enough time to get into field goal range. This game had zero to do with clock management and everything to do with crappy play in all aspects. |
