Joe Hardy, the founder of 84 Lumber Co. and a Fayette County commissioner, has filed for divorce from Kristin Georgi, 23, his third wife.

Mr. Hardy, 84, filed Monday for the divorce, according to the Uniontown Herald Standard newspaper. The court papers cited irreconcilable differences.

The couple were married May 5 in Las Vegas.

For those of you who aren't from the Pittsburgh area, Joe Hardy is somewhat of a local laughing-stock with a typical "small town rich" person mentality, and far more money than class.

His daughter Maggie now runs all the 84 Lumber-related businesses, and she's a highly competent and shrewd businessperson; the whole 23-year old shampoo girl wedding thing must have driven her nuts. For more on Joe, here's his Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Hardy

Depending on who negotiated the pre-nup, he may very well get his "die broke" wish!

In the meantime, such sad and unexpected news...if those two crazy kids can't make it together, what hope is there for the rest of us?

My bro in law worked tat 84 Lumber corporate (right down the hall from Maggie) until very recently. I guess the word is that the chickee was screwing an ex boyfriend...more her age. Of course she is a gold digger and hit the jackpot. But from what I hear she isn't entitled to alimony unless they were married at least a year so she screwed herself out of millions by screwing around before then.

I figured Maggie wouldn't let him just walk down the aisle blindly without making sure that when the marriage broke up, she'd get some token lump sum to get lost and never show her face in Fayette County again.

Most pre-nups have a pro-rated payout based on the length of the marriage; needless to say, she'll be at the bottom of that scale.

And the ex-boyfriend - who saw THAT coming, right?

I'm not surprised this happend. When your that much older then the person you marry, it's almost guaranteed to fail. Have fun paying alimony Joe.

Joe obviously does all of his thinking with parts of his body below the waist, but someone had to have made sure there was a pre-nup.

I don't blame him for wanting some young trophy wife. Especially if you are filthy rich and can. But he is a moron for thinking she would want anything to do with him other then money.

"Trophy wife" is supposed to mean at least the second spouse who is a stunner at least 10 years younger than the guy but who has some sort of talents that are performed while dressed. This gal was doing Joe's nails at Nemacolin until Cupid's arrow struck in Vegas.
