Default Cowboys QB Coach Suspended -HGH

The ESPN story on the Harrison suspension said one NFL assistant had been interviewed during the investigation in which Harrison's name turned up - i guess this was the assistant

The NFL on Saturday confirmed that Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson admitted to NFL officials that he bought and used performance-enhancing substances while an assistant with the Chicago Bears.

Wilson, who has been suspended for five games by the league and fined $100,000, told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley that he used a substance, which he did not specify, to treat his diabetes. He said he did not pass the drugs along to anyone else and that he had "no regrets on trying to improve my quality of life." Wilson acknowledged he acted without "proper medical supervision."

According to the New York Daily News, Wilson received human growth hormone while working for the Bears from 2004-06. The league said that Harrison, Wilson and Richard Ryzde, a former doctor for the Pittsburgh Steelers, were involved in an Internet pharmaceutical distribution ring for steroids and other performance enhancers being investigated by the Albany (N.Y.) District Attorney's office.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said both Wilson's suspension and the suspension Friday of New England safety Rodney Harrison stemmed from the investigation by the Albany D.A.'s office. Authorities there have been looking into an Internet ring involving performance-enhancing drugs and allegedly involving athletes from a number of sports.

Aiello said the third NFL person involved in the investigation was Ryzde, who was fired earlier this year by the Steelers.

Hope there are no shoes about to drop in Pittsburgh

Seems a bit more serious when compared to sending porn to the whole NFL by mistake.

i wonder if rex grossman happend to find some the "diabetes medicine" falling out of wilsons pocket on the way to the lockerroom after drills?

so wilson and harrison were just suspended. we know they wont be fired. it it safe to assume the steelers quick firing of their team doctor serves as an adequate deterrent to the likes of jeff reed (or any other players)?

Looks like you draw a 4 game suspension for using if you are a player

Steelers organization presumably was not fined $$ or draft choices for the team doc writing HGH prescriptions since he was doing it on his own time and the Steelers canned him when they found out. Any Steeler who shows up in the seized records or is implicated by the doc and fesses up should get 4 games - if a player lies to Goodell about using that will get an enhanced sentence.

im thinking no steelers will show up on the list. not current steelers anyways.

by no means was haynes supposed to be healed from his injury and be back on the field this soon. but then again neither was carson palmer. however it does make you wonder about all the "advancements" in modern medical technology that are gatting all these players on the field so much quicker.

there was an infrequent time or 2 porter showed a sign of roid rage, but then again there was a time that porter showed signs of raising dogs that would attack and maul a horse to death

...and jeff reed! its fun to speculate about him, but i'd hate to see the same speculation about willie (although its pretty obvious willies bulk has increased about 10 lbs in a course of about 3 years. i think its safe to say he is all natural and a product of alot of hard work.

if you believe bill romonowski, he has devised a chicken extract that triggers your own brain to naturally produce HGH.

will chicken be on the banned substance list?

Well...

In my opinion... any current Steeler found with steroids, should be sent the same way as the doctor.

I know I am probably in the minority on this... but that really is my opinion.

So then the question is...

SHould players be able to use HGH and other substances to RESTORE themselves from injury, as long as it is completely out of thier system before they come back to the team?

It's funny you should say that. I have been thinking all pre-season how in the hell is Jeff Reed all of a sudden kicking 5 yards deep into the endzone. I have only seen him do that a hand-full of time in his entire career, now he's doing it every game. Things to make you go Hmmm?

I sure hope none of the Steelers players get named in this steroid ring. We will never hear the end of it. And to be completly honest I will be embarassed for the organization and as a Steeler fan.

im not worried about it. it hasnt always been illegal or banned. i think its just an epidemic that every locker room has seen, that all began with tom brady coming into the league with his BALCO connections.

the pats had their success, and of course it is a copycat league. the trend has touched every locker room, probably, but i think there have been great efforts by the commissioners to clean this up.

who knows.... pretty soon we may see the nfl ban chicken, amino acids in steak, and weightlifting.

and pasta! cant forget about pasta.
