i got the NFL preview edition of Sports Illustrated and it listed their rankings of the top 500 players in the nfl. i dont know if its on the website im sure it is but heres the top 10 then all of the steelers

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. LaDainian Tomlinson
4. Julius Peppers
5. Jason Taylor
6. Champ Bailey
7. Brian Urlacher
8. Drew Brees
9. Carson Palmer
10. Walter Jones

Steelers
28. Troy Polamalu- 3rd best safety behind ed reed (12) and adrian wilson (27)
44. Casey Hampton
67. Alan Faneca
85. Ben Roethlisberger- surprised with that especially after all writers keep bashing all offseason
94- Hines Ward
173-Willie Parker- marshawn lynch is ranked higher
210- Marvel Smith
219- Heath Miller
323 Max Starks
330- Santonio Holmes
346- Lamar Woodley
348- James Farrior

Calvin Johnson is ranked 63 as the highest rookie

Andre Johnson is ranked higher than chad johnson and marvin harrison and reggie bush is the second ranked running back
