pat kirwan was working with the jets when dennis byrd was paralyzed. he told the story how they played the bills the following week. now this was when the bills were excellent and the jets were pretty poor. the jets became galvanized and by the time they stepped off the plane in buffalo they knew there was no way they were gonna lose. they went out and spanked the bills.

football is a game of emotion. the good thing is, i think the steelers play with a hell of alot of emotion. they will have to, because the bills are playing for alot more than just a win. then again that was the case the last time we faced them too, and we beat them with our bench players.

This talk of emotion could be valid, but, all the news out of Buffalo now is that Everett will recover and have the ability to walk again. So he isn't officially paralyzed. I think that may make for the bills to let out a sigh of relief, and take away from the "emotion" of playing for Everett. They'll now just focus on the Steelers and their game plan and the "win one for Everett" emotion won't be as motivating as it would have been if the poor guy was still on life support...but that's just my humble opinion.

If the Steelers play they way they are capable of playing, they should be able to handle the Bill rather easily. Our Defense should dominate, and Offense will be confusing and efficient enough to score points. The better team with more talent is definitely the home team in his one. Plus, Tomlin will have his team 100% ready for his home debut.

Pittsburgh 34 Buffalo 13. With the Steelers having a late in the game Pick 6 to put it away...look for the Rookie Gay out of Louisville to make a play late in the game. That kid is a ball hawk.

Being that I am going to the game this Sunday...I can't wait to find out what's going to happen first hand....although with the amount of adult beverages I plan on consuming (going to the game with some old college buddies I havent' seen in years) I hope the plumbing at Heinz Field is fixed!

Hopefully this isn't a total asskicking like last week...I want to watch an NFL quality football game!

Default Re: Steelers vs Bills - Peter Kings Weekend Pickoff

Can it be, the tide of "expert" opinion is turning for our Ben? Here's what Peter says about this weekend's game in his Weekend Pickoff:

Quote:
The Bills show some signs of life, but Ben Roethlisberger shows some signs of Peyton Manning. This will be his second straight Pro Bowl-type game, which is saying something in a conference with Manning, Tom Brady and Carson Palmer.

Steelers 30, Bills 17
After Ben's struggles last year, I'm almost afraid to get my hopes up too high on his behalf, but it's nice to see him starting to get a little love in the media.

Ben really couldn't have a worse season than he did last year. He'd almost have to try to be that bad. But, having the likes of Dan Marino or Jim Kelly call you and say "hey we all have bad years" helps for Big Ben. He had a down year, yes, he will rebound and perform the way he can perform and with the new comfort he has for the offense, the fact that he is now a leader on the team and not some hot shot "kid" he'll be in more control on and off the field. We have the potential for many years with Ben and many good seasons and more Rings...he'll get the job done.

First of all my friend... Peter King is not the man the Steelers must convince to win anything. The Bills are alot better team than the Browns at this point, but I think that the Browns have a brighter future. They have their future QB in Quinn and a great LT rookie that is gonna probably be pretty darn good. With that in mind, they must get pressure on the QB of the Bills and put a stop to the RB rookie. As far as trusting Peter King in telling me who is gonna win and who isnt.... well... I dont think so...
