Harrison's move has effect on special teams By Mike Prisuta TRIBUNE-REVIEW Friday, September 30, 2005 James Harrison's promotion to starting outside linebacker in place of Clark Haggans (groin) could have a trickle-down effect on the Steelers' special teams. Harrison, who made the final 53-man roster in 2004 mostly because he had turned himself into one of the Steelers' best performers in the kicking game, had been appearing on the punt, punt-return, kickoff and kickoff-return teams this season. No Steelers starter had been playing on all four of those special-teams units during the first three games. Ike Taylor, who starts at left cornerback, returns and covers kickoffs. Tight end Jerame Tuman plays on the kickoff return and place-kicking teams. Tight end Heath Miller, who has started the first three games along with Tuman, is on the kickoff-return, punt and place-kicking teams. The Steelers were without another key member of their special teams, wide receiver Sean Morey (hamstring), during Sunday's 23-20 loss to New England. A 34-yard kickoff return to the New England 38-yard line preceded the Patriots' drive for the game-winning field goal in the closing seconds |

Yeah this could hurt somewhat. But Harrison really needed to get on the field on defense at somepoint. He is the next great outside lb I hope.

This could turn into a problem. I'm not sure who they will have take his place. Just wondering how long is Morey out for?

We still have people like morey, Iwouma, etc, who are ST demons..its good to have people around like that. We'll adjust Im sure, but Harrison sure is a beast no matter where he plays.

When Porter got ejected prior to a game last year and Harrison stepped into the D and out of the special teams. I noticed a significant drop off in coverage.
