the Patriots are looking DAMN GOOD right now. Please save the jokes for them cheating in this thread. They just look dominate.
We all knew they were going to beat the Jets rather easily since they are overrated. But jeez they beat the Chargers up pretty good. Offense and defense just looking GREAT for them. I had them losing in the AFC Champ. to the Ravens. I think I'm gonna change that and say they should be going to the SB. Damn they look good which is unfortuante for me because one of my real good friends is a die hard Patriots fan and he'll brag (even though I could just bring up a little scandal lol).

Agreed on how they look, but it's only week 3. Long way to go. I wouldn't book reservations in Arizona for any team just yet.

i'm not sayin they didn't look good....but ,lets give a little credit to the chargers for HELPING them look good.those picks rivers gave them ,were just boneheaded passes right to them!!! they beat the chokers 38 - 14...they beat the jets 38 - 14....does that meen the jets are as good as the chargers ? hell no !!! it meens the chargers didn't bring ANYTHING close to thier A game. they reminded me of last years steelers.

If the Pats keep it up they might be able to join such legendary teams as the 2006 undefeated Super Bowl champ Bears and the 2005 undefeated Super Bowl champ Colts.
Lots of teams look awesome early and tail off, incur injuries, or simply meet up with a hot team that is a bad match-up in January. The Pats certainly have the potential to be the best Pats team ever, but that does not guarantee a SB - just ask the 1976 Steelers |

Hey just remember last year, we looked awesome against the chiefs and then blew several games we should have won.
While they look great now, can tey keep up the pace for the entire season. While it is most assured that they will win their division, I believe they will fail to be tested consistently in the regular season and will have their season ended at home when it matters most!

I agree with Atlanta Dan and Fansince'76 though - impressive early season form is no reason to 'crown their ass'. On the flip side, you have people downplaying both of the Patriots opponents, disregarding the fact that both made the postseason last year - the Chargers are not suddenly a bad team, although are far from top-form at this point. The Jets will push for the postseason again - they made a late run last year and hit form at the right time no reason why they can't get Pennington fit and do the same this year. That San Diego D will shred some very decent O-line's this year - I think the Patriots O-line is ready to take the step up to 'elite' along with the Colts. I also look forward to getting Rodney H. and Seymour back in action - hopefully the Sey-monster will be dressed and ready for action by game 8-10. So its looking great right now, but there always twists and turns during the season - and this year the Patriots seem to have gone out of their way to create some of their own.

They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless. The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed. |
