Marathon and Roethlisberger Foundation Support Youth Football
September 27, 2007: 08:35 AM EST FINDLAY, Ohio, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Marathon Oil Corporation , through its wholly owned downstream subsidiary Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, announces the company has joined WFIN-AM radio and Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, to help support youth football in the Findlay, Ohio-area. "Youth sports provide children with the opportunity to develop many socialization and leadership skills that are useful throughout life. Sports also promote good health," said Gary R. Heminger, Marathon executive vice president and president of the Company's refining, marketing and transportation operations. "Marathon is pleased to join Ben Roethlisberger, in giving local youth the opportunity to gain all the benefits sports can provide." Every time that "Big Ben" runs or passes for a touchdown during this season, Marathon will donate $1,000 to the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation. The money will be used to support youth football in Findlay, Ohio, through the development of a football complex. "I was raised to appreciate my many blessings and to always try to help others who may not be as fortunate," said Roethlisberger. "I'm excited about helping to provide Findlay-area kids with the opportunity to participate in football at a new complex." Ben had a career-high 4 touchdown passes the first week of the promotion. Up-to-date results can be found on www.wfin.com. Information about the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation can be found at www.bigben7.com. About Ben Roethlisberger Foundation The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund, seeks to provide support for police and fire departments throughout the U.S., with a particular emphasis on service dogs, and to enhance the quality of life for residents of Findlay, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pa.
