living in cleveland, i have always been a big tribe fan. they have been absolutely on fire over the past couple months. i hope we get the kill sunday. watching the steelers whoop the cryhawks and then after the trip back from heinz, watching the indians win the ALDS will make my day a perfect one.

Most definetly good times. Griffey, Edgar, Buhner, Randy Johnson. Only team in MLB that could beat us that year was your Tribe. If I recall correctly, you had Manny, Sexon, Albert Belle, Omar Visquel. That was a fun series. Even better was the one game playoff where we beat the angels and the ALDS vs Yankees.

that mariners team in the mid 90s was my second favorite team to the indians. griffey has always been my favorite baseball player and buhner was just a bad ass dude. those were some scary lineups the indians and mariners had back then. this generation of indians could be just as good though.

By the way, I like the Indians chances in Boston. The 2-3-2 format really plays to their strength, since Sabathia and Carmona will be able to at least slow down the Red Sox hitting, and Westbrook will be pitching back at the Jake. Wedge already made it pretty clear that CC and Fausto are pitching games 4-5 in Cleveland. If the Indians bats stay hot, there is a chance they could wrap the series up in game 5 in Cleveland. If it goes back to Boston, the Indians chances drop precipitously.

Correction. Wedge said he's sticking with his 4 man rotaion of:

Sabathia
Carmona
Westbrook
Byrd

Interesting match-up in game 4 if Paul Byrd goes against Tim Wakefield. I don't think either one of them has a pitch faster than the mid-80's.

The other compelling pitching match-up. I expect whomever pitches the best between CC, Fausto and Josh Beckett to win the AL Cy Young. Kind of makes it easy for the voters.
