Yeah, but I think a good bit of that had to do with giving them an extra week off during the bye. He seemed cautiously optimistic with Hampton but with Troy and Holmes he seemed very positive stating that they are not even listed.

I also think that maybe Ward, Polamalu and Hampton took it upon themselves to tell Tomlin before the Seattle game that it probably wouldn't be smart to play that week instead of pushing Tomlin to let them play. Guy is not a mind reader. No coach is.

I know Ward wasn't very optimistic before the Seattle game and made it clear in a few interviews before that game. Same with Polamalu.

i would much rather a player telling the coach that he isnt ready to play and the coach sit him.

At least 3 injured Steelers starters to return Sunday

The Steelers will welcome at least three of their four injured starters back this week and may even make it four-for-four.

Coach Mike Tomlin said today at his news conference that wide receivers Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes and strong safety Troy Polamalu all will return to the lineup for their next game in Denver Sunday night.

All three missed the past game with various injuries, and Ward has missed the last two.

The only one of the four starters whose status has not been determined is nose tackle Casey Hampton. He missed the last game with a hamstring injury that Tomlin said will limit him in practice tomorrow. The coach said they will monitor Hampton as the week goes on and they are "hopeful" he will play.

Also, backup tight end Jerame Tuman has had back spasms that may limit him in practice, and No. 3 cornerback Bryant McFadden remains doubtful with a high ankle sprain.

I thought I read he did and paid $7500 bail. No link........but I think I read that somewhere.

I'm sure he's already been brought into the principal's office and the big man knows his side of the story.
