collinsworth- says the rest of the league is now irrelevant based on the beatdown the jags and steelers got.
marino- says it is now the colts who are getting disrespected (im assuming by all the patlove). the elevation to grandeur for these teams is becomming enjoyable. it reminds me of the 15-1 vikings (with moss) 00 greatest show on turf, rams the 04 & 05 payton mannings and maybe even the record setting, LT led chargers all "great" teams that came crashing down from their regular season pedestals. with exception of last years chargers, all great dome passing teams. i'll wait to see how moss holds up in the snow. running and defense win in december and into february so its not over yet. last week (in a weak attempt to back off the slob jobbery he had been giving the patriots) collinsworth predicted either the colts or patriots would finish the season undefeated, and that either the steelers or chargers would knock them out in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

What you mention is really interesting, all those high scoring teams came crashing down when it was more important, and if it happens to the pats history will repeat itself. Now I'm hoping they go 16-0 and lose it all against some team(hopefully the steelers)in the afc championship. go pats for undefeated regular season! |

I dont think either will go undefeated. We know both wont.
But unfortunately, I do think these two teams are the prohibative favorites to win the Super Bowl. I think the Steelers are right in that 3rd-5th best team debate, but there is a large margin between us and the top 2 right now. But as you say Tony, alot can change once you get to the playoffs. But this particular year there are 2 of those type teams instead of just one, which reduces the odds of someone else sneaking in there.

No doubt the patsies look good right now, but there is an undefeated team or two at this point EVERY year. Its become more fashionable for ESPN and the media in general to predict the future and state it as if it were a matter of fact rather than just report on the games as they play out.
If there is any justice in the world that the patsies will fall down when the playoffs start. Cheaters never win. |

I've said it before - even if the Pats or Colts go undefeated in the regular season, all it earns them is accolades, a place in the record books, and entry into the postseason. It's a whole new season in the playoffs. No one gave the Steelers any chance whatsoever of beating Indy in 2005, and I seem to recall how that turned out.
My head hurts already with all the Colts/Pats "Biggest Game Ever" media hype, and there's still another week to go. Sigh. |

I'm taking the Emmitt Smith approach here. I'm predicting that both the Coats and the Paints go undefeated and win the Super Bowl.

The Redskins actually have a good secondary so we may finally see them have to attempt more than 10 running plays. [/slightly off topic]
Anyway, Collinsworth is finally starting to annoy me. I'm looking forward to the Patsies losing and find out who he will leghump next.
