So far this year our Steelers are 5-2 and are 2-0 in the division. Last year at this time we were 2-5 and 0-1 in division play. Ben looks like he's back, the defense looked very good again, and suprisingly the oline is looking better than they were last year.
I know, I know we played like utter crap against Denver but hey Tomlin is a human being, he'll make mistakes with this team. Don't be surprised if we lose another game where we should've won, stuff happens. The offense that Tomlin has brought in has been a success and the he's still playing the tough game. Are we with the Colts and Patriots? No we're not, nor the rest of the NFL is. We shouldn't be with them either. Both of those teams are STACKED and we're still in a work in progress. We have a new coach with a new system that's going to take time to perfect. It amazes me though how much we've gotten used to the system and how well they are adapting it. We're the 3rd best team in the AFC and probably the 4th best team in the NFL (IMO we're better than the Packers). With the way things are going we'll most likely win the AFC North which is something I hoped for. So look at last year, and compare to this year, it's like night and day. We're back folks and I'm VERY excited!

Agreed....ALL we need to do is win the divison....because as we proved a couple years ago....ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs.

Good post, FWP39 and I agree pretty much with everything you said, with the exception being . . .

The difference today imho? Our boyz came out rarin' to go and played with excitement from the opening kickoff until the final second ticked off that clock.

The Steelers were coming off a loss and a loss here today would caused a three way tie in the AFC North, with Cincy within a game. In case you haven't notived, Cleveland won today. This win was very important, and the Steelers responded. Like I said, the Steelers need to get out of their divison and get into the playoffs before even thinking about New England and Indy.
These next two home games against the Rats and Browns are very important. Now is the big test to see how much these Steelers are different from last year's team. The defending AFC North champ Ravens are coming to town and they destroyed the Steelers last year. It's redemption time and could very well be the game that sets the tone of this team's season. Oh boy, I can't wait. |

Regardless of the outcome of the game...it will be like today...hard hitting and competitive for 60 minutes of football.
However, I have little fear of the Raven's offense.....And their Defense feels somewhat less formidable than last year. (knock on wood) |

they may not be playing as well as last year...BUT...thiey're still the best D the steelers will have faced so far. the pass protection has been horrible against sub par defenses, so i'm thinking it's justified to be a little concerned about the ratbirds D.Then there's ed reed......ben would be well advised to know where he is at all times.

Super Bowl year, 7 - 5 at one point... Remember? Hell yeah I'm happy where we are! Respected enough to be feared (Case in point: Bengals) but under the radar enough to play the underdog card too... Things are working out perfectley...
