Default Why Sports Illustrated Is A Mess

The majority of posters on this board are too young to remember when if you wanted good reporting on non-local sports teams during the pre-ESPN 60s and 70s Sports Illustrated was pretty much your only option. This article walks through how SI has drifted into irrelevance for even previous customers like me who pretty much are limited these days to checking out what Peter King and Dr. Z. are saying on the SI web site.

Immediate information and video are great, but well written sports stories are something I miss.

The swim suit edition is a slightly tomed down edition of Playboy.

What happened to reporting of sports?

We now get ESPN mag.

I used to subscribe to SI, ESPN and the Sporting News, but I let them all lapse. Don't miss them a bit.
