Default NFL Fan Value Experience - Steelers/Heinz Field Ranked Second

I participated in this survey last summer and was delighted to see some of my answers included in the quotes!! Fun reading about all 32 teams....

Steelers - Final Score 54 out of 70. Rank: 2
BOTTOM LINE: Surprisingly -- to us -- many Steelers fans pine for the days of Three Rivers Stadium, in all its cookie-cutter stadium glory. They miss the deafening crowd noise the enclosed facility offered, as well as the larger tailgating areas. Heinz Field may have neither of these, but it seems to be a much better-than-average attempt at providing the Steelers the enhanced revenue streams all NFL teams need now, while also providing the masses a place that speaks to their Pittsburgh location. Granted, those masses had to fork over $158 million (of the total $281 million) to get the place built, but at least Heinz doesn't turn its back on those taxpayers. It has plenty of local food, it opens out onto the city skyline and it pays homage to the history of a team for which this city breathes.

Great read - thanks for the link

Description of Gillette reflects the cold-blooded take every nickel on the table attitude that permeates that organization - let's see how popular they are when the good times aren't rolling:

[T]hough most fans are willing to swallow the $40 parking and $10 McDonald's meals and $90 tickets in return for a privately-financed stadium (For which Kraft deserves praise in this era), the fact that not a single money-making opportunity isn't maximized poses a risk once Bill Belichick and Tom Brady depart. This isn't to say Patriots fans don't appreciate all Kraft has done to improve the team and the game-day experience, but some "wish it didn't cost $600 to bring a family of four to a game." From the prices to a horrific commute that puts one in for "an 8-9 hour day depending on your distance from the stadium," fans aren't cut a break on anything. That isn't much of an issue when you are competing for Super Bowl trophies each season, but when the good times on the field fade, so too will the warmth in the fans' hearts.

I have one question: Where in the Hell is the $4 beer in Heinz Field?!?! I've been there probably 25 times, and I've never see a beer cheaper than $6.50.

Oh, the article was great, too!
