Well, think about it. First off, there are many here who are convinced we won't win another game. 7-9 might be "good" enough to land him. And we could always trade up. But Oher is, again, the more realistic option where we'll be picking.

Long gave up one sack all year, and it was against Vern Gholston who will dominate at the next level.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Now I am not saying that our season is over right now, and I do think we are gonna win some more games and make the play-offs. For our team to succeed though, we must protect Ben better. Faneca is Not the Great Hall of Fame player that everyone thinks he is. He gives up plays every game and I just dont see how he is considered the best OG in the league. We must replace him and our OT positions needs to be upgraded as well. Marvell Smith gives up too many plays as well for someone that is supposed to be guarding the blindside of our great QB.
What kind of year would Ben be having if he had good protection that the Steelers had during our Super Bowl Run?

Yeah, he's like that; he absolutely has no life outside of the NFL draft. It's like he's consumed, like it's all there is in the world; that and the Catholic Church (he is an EXTREMELY devout Irish guy, in the old fashioned way; mass daily). Those are the only subjects he converses on. Not married, no girlfriends, no male friends either, outside of football (work) and priests.

Not saying it's bad, or good; just saying that that's the way it is.

I like football a lot. It's safe to say I love football. I watch a ton of college football, and I consider myself a student of the game. But we are talking, at worst (during bowl season)maybe 25 hours a week watching and maybe a few more reading about it, and that's only for a few weeks a year.

But these guys are crazy!

Pure stud, but played against inferior competition, so it's tough to know if he'll be able to make the transition to the pro's (which essentially means "can he get seperation at the next level?"). He catches the ball more with his body than he should, but a good NFL WR coach can teach him. He was recruited as a QB but played behind Frye and Getsy so there was a bigger need at WR. He's big, fast, strong and clutch. I'm anxious to see how he performs with a real QB throwing to him against talented DB's in whatever college all-star game he goes to.

With coaching he could be the next Marques Colston. He has that much upside.

they have him listed at 6-4...225....not very impressive in the 40...4.65..low 4.48...high 4.73....but is he physical and agressive going after the ball?

I saw those 40 times and I question them. He plays faster than that on the field. Besides, there are successful NFL WR's with similar 40 times. He definitely uses his size to his advantage. One of the Zips best plays is throwing a WR screen to Arthur and watching him wreak havoc in space against smaller DB's. He also gets double covered a lot but finds ways to get open. If he can get seperation at the next level, he'll be a player. But he's going to be a bit of a project. He's a converted QB, so he's smart. Give him a year of seasoning and I think he could be a good NFL WR.

Yeah, but at 6-4 you don't need to burn the defender. How high can he jump? That--plus his height advantage--will make him a good deep threat.
