I don't have combine type numbers. All I can say is that he looks like a man playing with boys in the MAC. If he can seperate at the next level, he could be a really solid NFL receiver. Any other downsides can be coached out of him.

A 6'7" OT sounds like a good pick to me.

Why? We have a 6'8" OT on the roster now that everyone hates.

I'd like to see the Steelers draft Leodis McKelvin, the 1st Team All-American PR from Troy in the first round. He's the #2 punt returner in the history of I-A college football - right behind Wes Welker. McKelvin is also a topnotch CB. Mel Kiper has him #19 overall right now on Kiper's Big Board.

The updated mock draft on Rivals has the Steelers taking Tyson Jackson DE of LSU.

This is the first mock I have seen that hasnt either gone OT or CB. I guess they see the DE line a major area of need. Does this have anything to do with Aaron Smiths injury and age? Will his status play any role in the 2008 draft?

i'm sure a guy like jackson would be extremely tempting if he were still on the board, but i think visions of Ben being hammered repeatedly into the ground SHOULD , bring the F.O. to thier sences. if i were Ben ,the day before the draft, i'd send the roony's a copy of my new, big fat contract, and a video compilation of all the hits i've taken the last 2 yrs. maybe even through in the medical report from the coccussion from last years ravens game....

Nice website to look at Aussie.. I have been there alot.
Jackson might be more of a project right now.. because he would end up at LB for the Steelers I believe. And to answer your question about Aaron Smith's age... yes.. I think that it will play a role in what the Steelers do in this draft. When Smith went down, our defense fell as well.. and that shows how important he is to our team.
