Dawson should get in. Off this list I would vote for:

Dawson
Art Monk
Ray Guy
Chris Carter
Darrell Green

There's a lot of talent, and it's a tough call on some, but Dirt should have been unanimous first ballot. He replaced and arguably outperformed a HOF'er in Webster.

I hope Darrell Green doesn't make it!

I've seen him in person behind the cameras and he's nothing but a punk and a disgrace!

Here are my choices:

Dermontti Dawson, C -- 1988-2000 Pittsburgh Steelers, -best at his position in his era. He should have been in by now.

Kevin Greene, LB/DE -- 1985-1992 Los Angeles Rams, 1993-95 Pittsburgh Steelers, 1996, 1998-99 Carolina Panthers, 1997 San Francisco 49ers - I am not just selecting him because he played for the Steelers. Tony hipchest wrote a very good post a few months ago listing Kevin Greene's qualifications for the Hall. Kevin Greene led the league in sacks multiple times with multiple teams. I believe he was, or still is, third all time in sacks. If Kevin had played his whole career with one team I think he would be a lock.

Darrell Green, CB -- 1983-2002 Washington Redskins - sorry stlrtruck, but Darrell Green deserves to be in the Hall. Seven pro bowls, NFL all Decade team and, IMO most importantly, he was so amazingly consistent that he could stay with 20 something Wr's well into his thirties.

Art Monk, WR -- 1980-1993 Washington Redskins, 1994 New York Jets, 1995 Philadelphia Eagles - It is a sin that Michael Irvin is in the Hall before Art Monk.
940 catches, over 12,000 yards in an era of less passing.

Richard Dent, DE -- 1983-1993, 1995 Chicago Bears, 1994 San Francisco 49ers, 1996 Indianapolis Colts, 1997 Philadelphia Eagles - I'll take Dent over Haley because he has more sacks and is a Super Bowl MVP.

There are a couple of others on this list that deserve to be in the Hall eventually including, but not limited to, Chris Carter. I think Paul Tagliabue should be in the Hall, but does he count towards the five.

Oh, in-tune with Jack Lambert, if punters were real football players then Ray Guy definately would deserve to go eventually.

Monk is a lock. As much as I hate the Raiders, "The Snake" probably deserves a look as well. Obviously I want Dirt to get in there ASAP. His biggest challenge could be the fact that, though competitive, the Steelers didn't produce championships during his career. I'm not saying he doesn't get in, it just might take a year or two longer.

I'm not sure about Greene. He was a bit one-dimensional. But sacks are a sexy stat, and it may get him in.
