has anyone else noticed that the steelers have thrown less and less HB screens as the year has gone by. the steelres threw one screen on sunday and it went for 17. parker ran a 4.17 in college at one point in time. he has been getting slaughtered throughout the year and i think getting him in open space will make big plays and relieve parker from some of the beatdown a runningback takes.

Hopefully Arians runs a couple of them when NE is trying to get to Ben. Willie will burn them for a big gain and take the bite out of the pass rush. After getting burned by McGahee, I'm sure they will be out to beat the hell out of Willie. Its up to the play calling to keep him fresh and get him plenty of touches.

yep, definitely. we discussed it before that he should be used more like brian westbrook. I think Arians is a little obsessed with just pounding willie at the line for litle gains most of the time. maybe they change it for this sunday though....

I hope so too. Westbrook was the only marquee player in that game against NE and he killed them!

Big time!
I remember in training camp as part of the new offense we would screen more and pass more to our HB's, but i have no seen it much at all.
Like Hines0wnz said Parker has the potential to be a Westbrook on screens and when we have run a screen or short pass to the RB they have all been successful!

Willie's been having trouble getting past the line; when he does he's affective.
Maybe the screen pass is a good way to get him the ball past the line.

willie hasnt yet shown he has the hands to be used as westbrook. he seems to drop as many (looking upfield) as he catches. i dont think willie spends too much time in practice on the "hands" unit, especially while he is trying to assume the "jerome bettis" role.

then again, i want willie to be as good as jim brown and marshall faulk all roled up into one. its not gonna happen though.

Agreed I like willie but I don't think he will be that caliber.

Ya all they run is that mother fng wr screen that never works for more than 3 yards.
