Default Steelers fall to #8

Its been awhile since we've been this low in the rankings but i guess we can blame this on Maddox?

Too bad. What goes up, must come down. Just like the 10 plus years after Pittsburgh won their last Super Bowl, they sucked for all that time. Same with the 49ers. Chicago, Miami, and on and on. The Patriots will be next.

Well, considering we had an early bye week and Ben was out last game, Tommy kind of brought us down with his uh... 4 turnovers ! Don't worry. By the time we get into week 10 we'll be right back up in the top 5.

ESPN is way too trendy. They look at the big picture less than any other sports outlet.

Pete Prisco is worse. He hates the Steelers and actually ranks Jax above them.

FoxSports has a better grasp on the situation, but is still overrating the Bungals, and underrating the Pats.

I have to agree that the majority of these power-rankings are nonsense - id like to see one that actually represented a teams actual 'power' - therefore you should never have a team ranked 16 that will go into a match up with a team ranked 2 and actually be favorites.

The Bengals are massively over-rated at 2 - if I wanted to see teams basically ranked according to their records I could do it myself with a pen and paper.

Cheers

They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

so true. most power rankings seem like stacking teams records with no actual insight.
